Renee Chappell
Will take her place in the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars squad for the second successive season in 2008-09 after another outstanding summer in the Women's National Cricket League in which she collected 14 wickets at an impressive average of 13.85. Her performances were remarkable given she had fought her way back from major shoulder surgery in the 2007 off-season. She toured New Zealand with the Southern Stars squad for a five-match Rose Bowl Series and Twenty20 international, and will push for a berth in the Australian team for the 2009 ICC Women’s World Cup. Known for being a devastating Jenga player and loves camping in her down time. Works as a Team Manager at a valve repair company. | >
Brett Dorey
Fought his way back from a torn quadricep muscle, suffered in the season-opening interstate four day competition fixture against New South Wales at the WACA Ground, to figure prominently in the Warriors’ campaign in the latter half of 2007-08. Took 20 wickets in five first-class matches at 24.90, including eight in the win against South Australia in Perth which gave him Man of the Match honours, and was the equal-leading wicket-taker for the Warriors in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash with nine at a respectable average of 20.44. One of the most lethal pacemen in the country when on song, he represented Australia in four one-day international matches during the 2005-06 season. | >
