The WACA, in conjunction with Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA), are seeking a highly motivated Player Development Manager on a full time, fixed term contract.

As a member of the High Performance Team, you will develop highly effective relationships and provide individualised best practice health and wellbeing, career development, education and professional development programs and support to WA male players.

Reporting to the General Manager- High Performance (WACA) and the National Professional Development & Wellbeing Manager (ACA), you will be responsible for the following:

  • completing and executing comprehensive career assessments on all players
  • identifying education skills gaps
  • providing formal advice about education opportunities that will assist players in achieving career plans
  • providing appropriate first incident response to players who present with professional or personal issues
  • managing the delivery of all wellbeing programs

The requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • have recognised qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Career Development or Education
  • have outstanding oral communication and counselling skills
  • demonstrate the ability to build relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders
  • have a strong set of values which are aligned with cricket’s values of Accountability, Excellence, Honesty & Trust and Teamwork
  • be accountable, disciplined and motivated with a strong work ethic
  • be results orientated

In addition, having an in depth understanding of the on and off field requirements of elite athletes will be considered favourably.
