The future of the WACA and cricket will see the game's fans benefit from more games and higher quality national and international cricket fixtures that can be scheduled at both Perth Stadium and the redeveloped WACA Ground.
Sports enthusiasts and tourists will be attracted to the rapidly developing sporting precinct at the eastern end of Perth's CBD, which will be complemented by the new Perth Stadium and Sports Precinct at Burswood.
Increased spectator capacity at major fixtures will bring more people into the state, providing a significant boost to tourism and hospitality, which already receives considerable benefits from cricket.
The quality, look and feel of the Perth Stadium, connected by an impressive $54 million pedestrian bridge to a world-class boutique WACA Ground and sporting precinct, will create a compelling visual advertisement of WA to the world.
Under the proposals contained in Vision 2030, the WACA Ground development would see world-class facilities and amenities for spectators, including new stands, seating and significant shade.
As a 15,000 permanent capacity boutique stadium, the WACA Ground will preserve the traditions of cricket in WA, while catering for modern expectations of spectators.
