The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) last week visited the Western Desert to spread the message of cricket to a number of remote Indigenous communities.

WACA Regional Cricket Managers Matt Neves and Anton Turco travelled to Punmu, Kunawarritji and Kiwirrkurra communities in partnership with Ngurra Kujungka.

The team visited schools in the communities, playing a number of games, putting on clinics and teaching the enthusiastic students some new skills.

The school at Punmu was also presented with an In2Cricket kit along with an online coaching course to ensure they can deliver ongoing cricket sessions.

The children in Kiwirrkurra enjoyed their cricket match so much that they played until it was dark at the local community oval.
