3 December 2015

Western Australia’s squad for the 2015-16 Commonwealth Bank Australian Country Cricket Championships in Mount Gambier in January has been announced.

Upper Great Southern stalwart Rodney Ford will skipper the side, which will be coached by former county professional Stewart Walters who has taken over the reins.

Walters along with ex-WA Country XI star and Chair of Selectors Garth Nottle named the 14-man squad on Wednesday for the tournament which runs from 3-11 January.

WA were ACCC winners in Canberra in 2014 and there’s a number of players from that side, including Geraldton’s Shayne Bidwell, Bunbury and Districts’ Ross Knoll and Albany’s Julian Crudeli.

The WA squad will fly out for South Australia on 2 January, with a cap presentation taking place at the Perth Domestic Airport.

WA opens its campaign on Monday 4 January with a two-day match against New South Wales at Malseed Park.
