WA Trio Named In Best Country XIs

Western Australian trio Patrick Butler, Shayne Bidwell and Lauren Mainwaring (pictured, right) were this week named in the Commonwealth Bank Australian Country Cricket Championships team of the tournaments.

WA finished fourth in the Men’s Division, while they ended up sixth in the Women’s Division in the week-long tournament in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Albany leg spinner Butler finished the Championships with the third most wickets, with 13 scalps from five games at an average of 17.46 and an economy rate of 3.14.

Geraldton fast-medium bowler Bidwell claimed 11 wickets from five games at an average of 17.36.

WA’s Julian Crudeli also won the award for best fielder throughout the tournament.

Kimberley talent Mainwaring finished with the sixth most runs in the Women’s division with 95 runs from six knocks.
