SunSmart Under-16 Wayne Clark Zone Carnival Wrap
2 February 2006
The Under-16 SunSmart "Wayne Clark" State Carnival has just been completed.

Held at Rockingham Mandurah's home grounds on the first day and Lilac Hill for the remaining days, the carnival was played amongst the four Metro zones (North West, North East, South West and South East) and two teams from regional Western Australia.

The results from the three day carnival with better individual performances are listed below.

The North West Metro Zone (Players from Scarborough, Wanneroo, Joondalup and Subiaco-Floreat District Cricket Clubs) won all four of their games. It was a close contest with the North East and the South West both winning three games. The South East and Country Black teams both won a game each while the other country team, Country Orange failed to win a game.

The Under 16 State Carnival brings together the best players in the state and gives them the opportunity against each other. It provides the country players with a rare opportunity to display their skills against their city counterparts. Good performances in the carnival go a long way to gaining selection in a training squad for the Under 17 state team.

A special thanks to the Umpires who did a great job over the three days, Parents and Families of players who assisted with the smooth running of the carnival and the Rockingham Mandurah and Midland Guildford District Cricket Clubs.
