Melville Boosts A-Grade T20 Final Hopes

Melville has kept their final hopes alive with a crushing victory on Sunday, while plenty of Alcohol.Think Again Western Fury stars were missing with representative duty during Round Seven of the Female A-Grade T20 competition.

Renee Chappell was superb on her way to 80 from 51 balls to lead Melville to 3-183 from their 20 overs against University at James Oval.

The top-order batswoman hammered 11 boundaries in the knock, with strong support from Jenny Wallace (68) catapulting the side to victory.

Elsewhere, South Perth continued their domination of the competition with another win over Midland-Guildford at Lilac Hill.

Nicky Shaw was at her brutal best with a half-century, while Emma Meuleman took two wickets to guide the top side home.

South Perth sits 30 points clear with three rounds remaining, all but guaranteeing the side a spot in the final.
