Melville and Midland-Guildford have re-claimed the top two
spots in the Female A-Grade 50-over competition after comprehensive wins on
The Storm returned to the summit with an eight-wicket
thrashing of University at James Oval, leapfrogging South Perth who had the
Midland-Guildford also moved up into second, trouncing
Subiaco Floreat by 189 runs at Abbett Park.
Midland-Guildford openers Elyse Villani (139) and Chloe Piparo
(161no) put on a remarkable 253-run opening partnership, leading the side to

Megan Banting (44) and Shenae Reichelt (35) put on a
promising opening stand but the Lions could only manage 195 before being bowled
out in the 43rd over, with Taneale Peschel taking 4-26.
Melville rolled University for 82 inside 37 overs, led by
Emma Biss who took 4-13 from 9.5 overs, while Renee Chappell and Georgie Middleton
took two wickets each. Tansi Price top scored for Uni with 27.
