South Perth will play either Midland-Guildford or Melville in the Female A-Grade 50-over competition grand final following Round Nine’s results on Sunday.
The league leading Sky Blues’ home match against Melville was abandoned at Richardson Park following Sunday’s afternoon storm, keeping the third-placed visitors in the hunt for the final.
Subiaco Floreat claimed a consolation win in their clash with University at James Oval, triumphing by seven wickets.
With one round to play, South Perth sits top of the table with 67 points but with the bye next weekend.
Midland-Guildford in second on 50 points, with Melville in third on 45 points.
The Swans play Subiaco Floreat next round, while Melville hosts bottom-placed University.
South Perth had amassed 8-231 from 50 overs with Heather Siegers leading the way with 42, while Clare Boycott made 37no.
Renee Chappell was the best with the ball with 2-26, while Melissa Bownes took 2-34, before Melville’s batting innings was halted without a ball being bowled with the wild weather hitting the metropolitan area.
At James Oval, University were bowled out for 74 with Emma King (3-11) and Jessica Humby (3-14) doing the damage, with Tansi Price (23) and Chelsie Winchcombe (20) providing some resistance.
The Lions chased down the required runs inside 12 overs, with Heather Graham blasting 40no from 39 balls, while returning international Nicole Bolton contributed 16no.
