Honours Even in Premier Cricket Decider
25 March 2017

Joondalup and Subiaco Floreat are locked in an enthralling battle during the Alcohol.Think Again Premier Cricket Grand Final at the WACA Ground; with momentum swings throughout the day meaning honours are even going into Sunday.

Joondalup chose to bat and shot out of the blocks with Michael Swart hammering 81 in what could be his last fixture for his beloved side, while Garrick Morgan was also impressive with 76, in a 140-run opening stand.

Subi fought back strongly in the middle session to wrestle back the momentum, with the competitions leading wicket taker Andrew Holder ripping through the middle order, as Joondalup lost 7-70 to be reduced to 7-211.

Some late hitting from Michael Johnson and Ty Hopes pushed the side up to a respectable 284, with Johnson out for 39.

Holder was again the hero with 6-85 to guide the Subi side back into the contest, while skipper Chris Hansberry was also crucial with three wickets.

Subiaco finished 1-62 at the close of play, with Callum How and AJ Murphy both unbeaten on 26, to complete a tense day.

Simon Branston was the only bowler to make a breakthrough for the Centurions, with early wickets vital for the side tomorrow morning.
