WACA Ground To Host Its Final Ashes Test Match
10 May 2017

The WA Government today announced that Perth Stadium will not be ready in time for the Ashes Test Match being held from 14-18 December 2017.

WACA CEO Christina Matthews said that while the Association was disappointed, the decision would provide WA cricket fans with an opportunity to celebrate and create history with the final Ashes to be played at the WACA Ground.
"We are committed to offering WA cricket's members and fans the very best experience the WACA Ground has to offer for the upcoming Ashes and regular Big Bash League season," Ms Matthews said.
"We will continue to work with government on the option of hosting the Australia v England One Day International match at Perth Stadium, which would provide an amazing opportunity for cricket fans in WA, and for the broader national and international cricket community, to experience the game at its very best in Perth's new state-of-the-art stadium."
Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said that whilst there would be a level of disappointment with this news from fans, a Perth Test Match at the WACA Ground will still be an enormously anticipated event that will be played in front of capacity crowds.
Ashes and ODI ticketing information will be released in due course.
