Zimbabwe-born all-rounder Cartwright burst on to the scene in WA cricket during the 2012-13 season. Cartwright had an outstanding game for WA in the Futures League against Queensland in 2012-13, scoring two half-centuries and picking up a five-wicket haul, prompting his senior debut. Cartwright debuted for WA in the RYOBI Cup against Victoria in November 2012, before getting a taste of action in BBL|02 with the Perth Scorchers. Cartwright has been on the fringes of the WA side since, but has re-emerged in the Shield side during the 2015-16 campaign.
