Carder is a left-handed top-order batsman who hails from WA Premier Cricket club Fremantle. He was the leading scorer at the 2014-15 Under-19 National Championships with 366 runs at an average of 73.2. He also was WA’s leading scorer in the 2015-16 Toyota Futures League with 440 runs at an average of 40. Carder played for the Cricket Australia XI against the West Indies in December 2015 and Pakistan in December 2016.
