Player Story

Philippe comes from a strong cricketing family. His mother, Leanne, opened the batting for Western Australia in 1986-87 while his father, Steve, played for the WA XI in 1987 and coached the WA Women's side for five seasons from 2006-11. The innovative wicketkeeper-batter made his Sheffield Shield debut in February 2018, a few months after blasting 88 runs from 92 balls for a WA XI during a warmup match against England. Strong limited overs form saw Philippe break onto the international scene in 2021, making his Twenty20 International debut against New Zealand before playing One Day International cricket against the West Indies a few months later. Philippe has also proven himself to be an exciting red ball prospect, finishing the 2021-22 Sheffield Shield season with 481 runs at 37 including a century and three half-centuries.
